Rampurva Bull

Rampurva Bull

Third century B.C. sandstone capital of Ashokan Pillar known as the Rampurva Bull stands on the front verandah of Rashtrapati Bhavan. Representation of Mauryan art, the Rampurva Bull, weights up to five tonnes and is noted for its delicately sculpted model demonstrating superior representation of soft flesh, sensitive nostrils, alert ears and strong legs.

A reminder of stateliness, grandeur and symmetry of the architecture of Rashtrapati Bhavan, twenty strong Tuscan pillars rest on the front Verandah of the Bhavan.

The Stables

The Stables

Inaugurated on July 25, 2014 by President Pranab Mukherjee, Rashtrapati Bhavan Museum Complex is an initiative to preserve, display and make available for public viewing the numerous gifts that Presidents of India have received over the years along with other important artifacts, textiles, photographs, archival material, arms, furniture and more. It is built converting a heritage structure, erstwhile the Stables and Coach House into a magnificent state-of-the-art museum.

Spread over an area of 10,000 square metres, The Garages is an "important landmark and destination for historians, researchers, students and the public," according to President Pranab Mukherjee. This Museum showcases past as well as current presidencies of the Rashtrapati Bhavan, the regal ceremonies, rich flora and fauna and much more. It is a complete package for the visitors who may be keen observers of art, culture, heritage and history.

Amrit Udyan

Amrit Udyan

Soul of Rashtrapati Bhavan, the Amrit Udyan is spread over an expanse of 15 acres in the presidential estate. Inspired by the Persian Charbagh, the Amrit Udyan is one of the most celebrated features of the Rashtrapati Bhavan. President Pranab Mukherjee hopes that, "The future of the country would be as bright and vibrant as the flowers in the Amrit Udyan."

Circular Garden

Circular Garden

Situated at the westernmost end of the Mughal Gardens, the Circular Garden is a jewel of Rashtrapati Bhavan. It is a huge terraced bowl shaped garden lined with various fragrant and vibrant flower beds and a bubble fountain at its centre.

Long Garden

Long Garden

Mainly a rose garden, the Long Garden of Rashtrapati Bhavan is 430 feet in length. The Long Garden has a variety of popular and heritage roses spread over 16 beds.

Spiritual Garden

Spiritual Garden

Spreading the message of harmonious coexistence, the Rashtrapati Bhavan’s Spiritual Garden bring together forty types of plants and trees that hold importance to different religions and faiths. This unique concept was initiated by Former President of India, Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam.

Herbal Garden

Herbal Garden

Rashtrapati Bhavan has Herbal Gardens with many varieties of medicinal trees and plants which are used to cure diseases among human beings, animals and plants. The Herbal Gardens were set up at the initiative of Former President of India, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam in order to promote natural and gentler remedies and give an impetus to centuries old heritage of medical sciences in India.

The Clock Tower

The Clock Tower

The Clock Tower is located in Schedule B of the President's Estate and is now the reception for the Rashtrapati Bhavan Museum Complex (RBMC).
